State Representative Pam Faris

"I am proud to support the MCC Millage because Mott Community College is at the center of the Genesee County community, providing outstanding educational, economic, community, and workforce development opportunities and services to our neighbors, families and friends. Genesee County voters should vote 'Yes' on August 2nd to make sure MCC's vital programs can continue."

Anthony Panneck

Anthony attended Carman Ainsworth High School in Flint and graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint. He is currently an organizer with the Michigan Education Association.

“As a veteran and graduate of Genesee County schools, my love for the community and the families in it has greatly increased over the years. With all the good we’ve been able to accomplish because of this millage so far—like upgrading Mott’s library and creating the Regional Technical Center—I can’t imagine where we would be today without it.”

Jimmy King

Jimmy is the retired Area Manager for Consumers Energy serving Genesee and Lapeer Counties, community volunteer, and member of numerous boards, including the Food Bank of East Michigan, Metro Community Development, the Foundation for Mott Community College, and the Flint Institute of Art.

“As a co-chair of the millage’s Say YES committee, I support this millage renewal because I am passionate about MCC and Genesee County. Without this millage, we would not be able to maintain such a fine college or community for our children to grow up in.”

Marcy Garcia

Marcy is a GM/UAW Skilled Trades retiree who has been actively involved in the community for over four decades by serving on numerous boards and committees, including the Mott Alumni Committee.

“It’s very exciting to be a part of the millage renewal committee. I personally believe that all Michiganders benefit from this millage. By strengthening Mott Community College and Genesee County with this funding, we in turn strengthen the state as a whole!”

Nicole Derusha-Mackey

Nicole is a lifelong Genesee County resident and proud Mott Alumna. She currently works for former MCC trustee and current 48th District State Representative Pam Faris as a legislative aide.

"I support this millage because I care deeply about the greater Genesee County community, which truly feels like one big family. Mott Community College is at the center of this community and a major source of pride. It only feels natural to support it through renewing the millage.”

Doug Bacon

Doug is the President of TGI Direct, a 50+ year old company headquartered in Flint, MI. He has also served on the Foundation of Mott Community College’s board for over 20 years, was the President of the Foundation for over 10 years, and has been on the Say Yes To MCC Committee for 10 years.

“As an individual who has taken classes on the MCC campus, as an area employer who has hired MCC students, and as a volunteer who has served the College in a variety of ways over the past 20 years, I recognize how important the millage renewal is for the college, our citizens, and our region. Even as the county grows and its needs change, the college and the millage have remained at the heart of that growth. I am confident that MCC is, and will be, an important part of our county's future success.”

Joel Arnold

Joel is a born and raised resident of Genesee County. He has been active in Flint for several years by working to improve the community in partnership with its residents.

Mott Community College opens doors for residents of all walks of life in our community. This millage not only supports the College, it supports the opportunities that the College provides for every resident of Genesee County. Everyone deserves the opportunity to receive a quality education, and without this millage, Genesee County residents would surely be missing out.

Tony Alexander

Tony has been a business owner in Genesee County for the past 40 years and is also currently co-chair of the millage's Vote YES Committee.

“I cannot say enough about how important this millage renewal is to Genesee County. The push for the millage should be a county wide effort and that’s why the Say YES Committee is determined to spread the good word about the renewal campaign.”
